5 Million Latch/Unlatch Cycles Tested

Verification Method

Door lock is to be installed into a cycling test fixture using the manufacturer’s strike according to the manufacturer’s directions. The lockset is to be cycled at a rate not to exceed 30 cycles per minute with a 10 lbf applied to resist the opening of the door leaf. The lockset is to be actuated by the rotation of the lever or knob. One complete cycle is considered to be the opening and closing of the simulated door. Cycling testing is to continue until number of desired latch/unlatch cycles have been completed, or until the door lock fails to operate as intended, whichever comes first.
