Why is Hydrogen Ready and Compatible Marketing Claim Verification important?
 
The UL Marketing Claim Verification for Hydrogen (H₂) program is a unique, trusted third-party offering to help establish the accuracy of claims about gas appliances performance when used with a natural gas fuel containing a percentage of hydrogen admixture. The H₂ Ready to XX% blend and H₂ Compatible to XX%  programs deliver objective verification of a customer’s claim about the performance of their product.
 
UL Solutions is the first trusted global TIC organization to verify the H₂ ready and H₂ compatible performance claims of natural gas appliance manufacturers. Appliance manufacturers can differentiate their products for hydrogen blending capability  through the UL Solutions Hydrogen Marketing Claim Verification program. The manufacturer must specify the blend percentage/composition volume fraction of H₂ and natural gas (methane) for verification. 
 
The Hydrogen Verification Mark acts as a key market differentiator for appliances that are Hydrogen Ready or Hydrogen compatible. The Verified Mark can be placed on your product and packaging, as well as used online, and in print marketing. UL also publishes the Verification at https://verify.ul.com/

Verification Method

H₂ Ready Claim Appliance/component is verified to perform as specified by the manufacturer with up to XX% H₂ fuel source. H₂ appliance or component may run with hydrogen blend as an acceptable fuel source with the addition of a conversion kit. H₂ Compatible Claim Appliance/component is verified to perform as specified by the manufacturer with up to XX % H₂ fuel source. H₂ appliance or component may run with hydrogen blend as an acceptable fuel source without the need of a conversion kit or modification.
