Total trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic acids (HAA5) limits are established in EPA 63 FR 69390 – 69476, December 16, 1989, Vol. 63, No. 241, National Primary Drinking Water Regulations: Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts. TTHM limits for Chloroform, Bromodichloromethane, Dibromochloromethane, and Bromoform assessed per, US EPA Method 524.2: Measurement of Purgeable Organic Compounds in Water by Capillary Column Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry HAA5 limits for Monochloroacetic Acid, Dichloroacetic Acid, Trichloroacetic Acid, Monobromoacetic Acid, and Dibromoacetic Acid assessed per, US EPA Method 552.3 Determination of Haloacetic Acids and Dalapon in Drinking Water by Liquid-Liquid Microextraction, Derivatization, and Gas Chromatography with Electron Capture Detection. Each TTHM and HAA5 byproduct concentration was compared to the limits established in EPA 63 FR 69390 – 69476, as follows: [(Measured Concentration – EPA Limit) / EPA Limit] x 100 The TTHM and HAA5 percentage of the byproduct concentrations are reported in the claim.
