PROTECO-TAPE products are directly wrapped around wires, cables or cable racks. Our tape products help prevent flame spread and protects important equipment from fire. The tape provides a flame retardant protective layer with advanced fire retardancy serving to help suppress ignition and flame spreading. Our tapes help limit smoke emission and are halogen-free, which helps reduce damage expansion caused by smoke generation during a cable fire. PROTECO-TAPE sticks well to cable, is flexible, and follows the thermal expansion and contraction of the cable it protects without reducing the allowable current of the cable.

Verification Method

The bundled cable samples below were wrapped with either the sheet or tape product. The wrapped bundles were then loaded on the tray per UL 1685 “Standard for Vertical-Tray Fire-Propagation and Smoke-Release Test for Electrical and Optical-Fiber Cables” and flame tested. For Tape product testing, the bundled sample contained the following cables: - 600V CV3C 150Sch Power supply cable - FCPEV 30P Communication cable - CVV 30C Control cable Claim validity is extended only to the exact bundle configurations listed above.
