Verification Method

Cable performance characteristics have been evaluated as outlined below to determine that the product satisfies the requirements of UTG20. As part of the UTG-C4P UTG20 Framework 2.0, the industry-first Bear Attack Test Method was developed by Anixter & UL to ensure optimal support of high performance applications. The Bear Attack (BERetAC) Test Method℠, combines bit error rate(BER), elevated temperature(et) and alien crosstalk(AC), while simultaneously delivering data, video and power over an unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cabling system. 10 Mb transmission distance up to at least 185 meters per Bit Error Rate Testing using Smart Bits Tester (single cable) 100 Mb transmission distance up to at least 150 meters per Bit Error Rate Testing using Smart Bits Tester (single cable) 1Gb transmission distance up to at least 100 meters per Bit Error Rate Testing using Spirent TestCenter / Copper Ethernet Test Module (single cable) 10 Gb transmission distance at least 100 meters per Bit Error Rate Testing using Spirent TestCenter / Copper Ethernet Test Module (single cable) Bit Error Testing at elevated temperature including Alien Crosstalk (BERetAC): 10 Gb transmission distance up to at least 100 meters at a temperature of at least 45°C per Bit Error Rate testing using Spirent TestCenter / Copper Ethernet Test Module when tested in a 6 around 1 Bundle configuration as described in ANSI/TIA-568.2-D: Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components with all 6 disturber cables active transmitting 10 Gb. Transmission performance per ANSI/TIA-568.2-D: Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components, from 1 MHz up to a maximum stop frequency between 500 - 650 MHz. Transmission performance per ISO/IEC 11801-1 Information technology – Generic cabling for customer premises – Part 1: General requirements, from 1 MHz up to a maximum stop frequency between 500 - 650 MHz. Transmission performance per EN 50173-1 Information technology – Generic cabling systems – Part 1: General requirements from 1 MHz up to a maximum stop frequency between 500 - 650 MHz. 1080p HD video surveillance transmission up to at least 150m per Transmission Distance test at 100 Mb and Type 2 PoE distance test. 4K UHD video surveillance transmission up to at least 150m per Transmission Distance test at 100 Mb and Type 2 PoE distance test. Maximum bundle size of 90 cables operating at 0.5A per conductor for a 15°C temperature rise at a 45°C ambient per TIA TSB-184-A. Maximum round bundle size of 130 cables operating at 0.5A per conductor for a 15°C temperature rise at a 45°C ambient in a ventilated environment, RP3 as defined in ISO/IEC 14763-2 and EN50174. HDBaseT™ transmission distance at 100 meters per UL 4299, Outline of Investigation for Power Over HDBaseT™ (PoH) Cables, using a modular plug terminated link (direct connect) configuration at room ambient.
