Verification Method
UL employs test, inspection, product analysis, demonstration and process analysis verification techniques to verify manufacturer claims. This evaluation will test the overall Audio Quality of the Monster Elements On-Ear Headphones. The objective of the testing is to verify that the Audio Quality of the Monster Elements On-Ear Headphones meets the HD Audio criteria set forth by UL. This will be accomplished through objective testing and subjective public and expert panel testing. The sample tested is compliant with the a customized UL standard. The device must be at least capable to produce 40 kHz in analog frequency response. Per industry standard, the higher the sampling rate, the higher the frequency response range that can be captured. 44.1kHz is the sample rate of audio CD's giving a 20kHz maximum frequency; moreover, 20kHz is the highest frequency audible to the human ear. Therefore, the customized UL standard states that for an analog device to meet the UL HD Audio Mark, it must achieve greater than or equal to 40kHz in frequency response.
