Verification Method
Temperature and Humidity Distribution and Fluctuation Test A set of 27 temperature sensors and 5 humidity sensors were placed in specific locations inside the freezer and refrigerator. The unit was turned on and stabilized for 24 hours. After reaching regular compressor cycles, temperature and humidity values were recorded and compared for the next 3 additional compressor cycles. Vegetable Water Content Reduction Test A set of 7 temperature sensors and 5 humidity sensors were placed in specific locations inside the freezer and refrigerator. Tubs containing 500g of water were placed in the vegetable draws of the refrigerator compartments. After 3 regular compressor cycles, the unit temperature and humidity values were recorded. The weight of remaining water was measured after 24 hours and compared with the original weight. Evaporation in Vegetable Draw A set of 7 temperature sensors and 5 humidity sensors were placed in specific locations inside the freezer and refrigerator. The unit was turned on and stabilized for 24 hours. The initial weight was recorded for 3 carrots, 3 strawberries and 3 tomatoes. The hardness of the 3 carrots was also recorded. Carrot hardness was measured after day 7 and day 14 and compared to the original readings. The weight of the 3 carrots, 3 strawberries and 3 tomatoes were measured each day for 14 days and compared to the original readings.
