680 Folsom is comprised of 680 Folsom, formerly 666 Folsom, 690 Folsom and 50 Hawthorne.  This collection of buildings used to be known as the Pacific Telephone Building from original development in 1964 and for decades since.  In 2012 the buildings were stripped back, literally down to their frames and redeveloped into modern commercial office buildings, with all the modern systems, functionality and amenities of any class A office building anywhere USA.  With all new central systems, the building operates on 100% outside air most of the year and these buildings are LEED Platinum construction and maintain an energy star label year over year, most recently with a score of 97.

Verified Healthy Building for Indoor Air and Water

Verification Method

The UL Verified Healthy Building Mark demonstrates that indoor spaces provide healthy indoor environmental quality (IEQ). It shows a commitment by building owners and managers to create and maintain indoor environments that support tenant health, well-being and comfort, backed by UL Solutions’ globally recognized expertise in IEQ and building health. These buildings meet rigorous performance criteria and have policies and plans in place for continual advancement of IEQ. To achieve the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, spaces underwent a desktop audit and on-site visits that include visual inspections and performance testing to evaluate a range of building conditions. The program includes an annual comprehensive assessment coupled with surveillance at the mid-year point. The testing requirements verify that the building air meets rigorous standards. These standards are aligned with industry-recognized, third-party organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), among others. When necessary, all laboratory testing and analysis methodologies are informed by the EPA Compendium of Methods, ASTM D5197 and TO-17 for air sampling, and EPA methods.

What is UL Verification?
