Verification Method

UL’s Healthy Buildings Verification Mark for Indoor Air demonstrates that indoor spaces provide healthy indoor air quality (IAQ). It shows a commitment by building owners and managers to create and maintain indoor environments that support tenant health, well-being and comfort, backed by UL’s globally recognized expertise in IAQ and building health. These buildings meet rigorous performance criteria and have policies and plans in place for continual advancement of IAQ. To achieve the UL Healthy Buildings Verification Mark, spaces underwent a desktop audit and on-site visits that include visual inspections and performance testing to evaluate a range of building conditions. The program includes an annual comprehensive assessment coupled with surveillance at the mid-year point. The IAQ testing requirements verify that the building air meet rigorous standards. These standards are aligned with industry-recognized, third-party organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), among others. All laboratory testing and analysis methodologies are informed by the EPA Compendium of Methods, ASTM D5197 and TO-17 for air sampling, and EPA methods.

About the Company

The Brick Companies Center is a class “A” office and medical building located Edgewater, MD. This is our headquarter building that we designed and constructed in 2002 and was the first office building in Anne Arundel County constructed with a living roof.  Located 1mi from our private Golf Club at South River, The Brick Companies Center is an ideal location for employees living in the expansive bay communities off Route 2 and for quick access to the Annapolis submarket. Numerous restaurants, banks, grocery stores, and shops are either a walk or short drive away. In addition to prime office and medical suites, we offer flexible leasing of individual offices through our wholly owned TBC Office Suites brand. This has been an attractive option for both start-ups and established companies looking to move from home office to professional office.    

LIFE AS OUR TENANT The Brick Companies Center receives the attention you would expect from an owner-occupied building. Our corporate and property management offices are on the top floor and we couldn’t be more attentive to our tenants. Our building engineer, Casey Ingram, is located at this property and is our chief engineer for all our Annapolis-area properties. He has been a valued employee of The Brick Companies for nearly 20 years and if you haven’t laughed at one of Casey’s jokes, you haven’t met Casey. Casey is a highly credentialed engineer and brings talent that is rare to find. We welcome our tenants to use our patio area and corporate conference room at no charge or just to come up and visit with us.
