The test chamber as described in AHAM AC-1 is utilized for testing. A TSI Model 3330 Optical Particle Sizer is utilized for monitoring particle counts and density. All assessments utilize 40 g of simulated household dust, as detailed in IEC 62885-2, Cl. 7.2.2.3 (DMT Test Dust Type 8) and 2g of Maine Coon cat hair. Test Run – Waste Bin a. The test chamber environmental controls are turned off and the dampers are closed. b. The Optical Particle Sizer is started to take measurements. c. The canister with the collected dust and cat hair is held at the center of the waste bin. The bottom of the canister is held along the horizontal plane of the waste bin opening. d. The dust from the canister is emptied into the waste bin. e. The Optical Particle Sizer is allowed to take measurements. Test Run – All-in-one Tower a. The test chamber environmental controls are turned off and the dampers are closed. b. The Optical Particle Sizer is started to take measurements. c. The A9 vacuum cleaner is mounted to the All-in-one Tower d. The All-in-one Tower is activated and extracts the collected dust and cat hair from the receptacle. The Optical Particle Sizer is allowed to take measurements.
