The following organisms were used during the assessment of this verification: Enterococcus faecium ATCC 6075 Test microorganisms were applied to Testing plates per the guidelines outlined in DIN10512. The dish load was based on the manufacturer’s rated capacity. Test microorganisms were applied to testing plates per the guidelines outlined in EN 50593, Electric dishwashers for commercial use - Test methods for measuring the performance. The entire load was placed into a test dishwasher and run through the claimed cycle, according to manufacturer’s instructions. Samples before and after washing were extracted and analyzed for microbial counts and the reduction of test organisms calculated. After each test run, negative control samples (no test microorganisms applied to the fabric samples) were used to monitor any carryover of organisms from one cycle to the next. Triplicate test runs were completed. For each test run, the following calculations were made: Percent Reduction = (ACC – ATC)/ACC x 100 Log Reduction = log ACC – log ATC or alternatively log (ACC/ATC) Where: ACC = average Positive Control Sample organism count before cycle (cfu/mL) ATC = average Test Sample organism count after cycle (cfu/mL)
